Self Care Sunday – Treat Yourself

Previously, I wrote a post about why it is important to take time for you. Self-care is the key for long-term happiness. When you take time to care and attend to what makes you happy, it will reflect in other aspects of your life. I became a better daughter, sister, friend, dog owner, and work professional when I decided to include consistent self-care rituals in my lifestyle. I learned how important self-care was a couple of years ago and it has changed my life drastically since. I try to take time for it almost every day (about an hour a day) and take the time to meditate, read, cook, or just simply relax. In addition, I will take extra time on Saturday or Sunday after I complete my long list of errands.

Saturday’s are usually time for family and friends. I make sure I take the time to be around them, especially after a long week of work. The time is much needed and it really gives me the motivation that I need to keep going. Sunday’s are usually my beauty days. After my Sunday brunch that I usually prepare myself (at times I will treat myself to bottomless Mimosas at a gem in Baltimore), I will take the time to wash/style my hair, give myself a facial, and shape/polish my nails. These are some of my favorite self-care activities because I really feel good about myself afterwards. My curls are popping and smell great and my skin is absolutely radiant.

Self Care Saturday or Sunday is something that you should consider to make part of your lifestyle. You will feel amazing and most importantly, a goddess. Every Sunday, I will make a post on ways you can enjoy Self Care Sunday.

Today, I will do the following:

Sunday Brunch – Banana Waffles

Wash Day for my curls


Possibly some time at the pool
