In November, the time adjusted an hour back. This left me with mixed feelings actually. I was excited about receiving an additional hour of sleep, which is much needed in my already busy schedule. But I also thought about how dark it will quickly get in the evening. See, the sun is a good friend of mine and I was sad to see him leave early everyday. I was determined to figure out a way to get through the fall back time adjustment. With some trial and error, I learned that these adjustments helped me get through it and they are still working for me now.
I use my diffuser every day with my favorite mixtures of essential oils. Since the time change, I find myself creating oil blends that improved my overall mood and made me cheerful. I created blends that include lemongrass, lavender, peppermint oil, and jasmine oils. If you have never used a diffuser before, I would recommend starting with one blend at a time and you will learn what scents you are drawn to. I purchased this diffuser, which also comes with a colorful light setting that you can choose from.
In addition to using an oil diffuser, I will use the previously mentioned essential oils in my skin regimen. I will use a few drops as a long lasting fragrance and I would reapply if I needed for a pick me up!
Himalayan Salt Lamp
I absolutely love my salt lamp! The orange glow of the lamp improves my mood and it feels like I am not missing any sunlight.
During my lunch breaks on sunny days, I will make the time to go outside. I will go on a short walk, grab a cup of coffee, or chill out on the bench. I would enjoy being outside in the sunlight and I would notice an instant improvement in my mood. Making the time to go outside helped, whether if it was for 5 minutes or longer.
Staying hydrated and eating plenty of healthy foods helped me get through the change. I made sure I consumed loads of fruits and veggies and invested in a quality water bottle to keep my water cold. I love when water is cool and refreshing! I would also make sure I would get enough rest at night to make sure I can start my day on a good note!
