Self-care has been a trendy topic and often associated with beauty practices. For me, self-care allows me to truly connect with my inner self to balance my mind, body, and spirit. Including these rituals helps me with relaxing and grounding, which assist with balancing my aspects of wellness. Need some inspiration? Check out my 5 Self-Care Rituals:

  1. Meditation

I meditate to clear my thoughts and set intentions. I meditate in the morning, throughout the day, and in the evening. It allows me to connect with nature and myself. I use healing crystals, candles, incense, and aromatherapy during my meditation sessions. These sessions usually range between 5-20 minutes, depending on my schedule.

  1. Reiki

Reiki is a part of my self-care ritual and also allows me to improve my Reiki healing practice. What is Reiki? It is a Japanese technique that can assist with relaxing and reducing stress. By a light touch or no touch at all, Reiki can assist with improving imbalance energy. As a certified Reiki practioner, I practice Reiki on myself and loved ones.

  1. Baths

Bath time allows me to relax and release thoughts that have my mind racing. I use my favorite bath products that include essential oils such as lavender and orange. I also light candles, dim the lights, and set my favorite vibe playlist to relax. I make bath time a priority 2-3 a week to keep myself relaxed. Once I started to prioritize my relaxing bath sessions, the more I started to look forward to them

  1. Journaling

Journal has been relatively new in my self-care practice. About 2-3 times a week, I like to write down how I am currently feeling. I learned to not make a habit out of journaling when I am only frustrated. I realized that I enjoyed writing when I was happy and inspired. At times, I will read back at my previous journal entries to celebrate my personal growth.

  1. Reading

I enjoy reading because it relaxes me and allows me to learn. Self-help books are usually my go-to and I tend to take notes so I can implement my key points into my life. At times, I will throw a book in my book bag so I can read during some downtime. Otherwise, reading a few chapters before bed helps me wind down. I am currently working on a book collection and seeing it grow makes me happy!
