3 Simple Affirmations for your Daily Routine

Can you believe that we are in the middle of January already? I hope you are still focused on your intentions that you set for 2017. I have been grinding hard and dedicating time towards my goals for the new year. We can be so busy that we lose sight on things that are important to us. I love repeating daily affirmations when I feel that my vibrations are low. Affirmations can be great friendly reminders and pick me ups. I feel better instantly after repeating them a few times. Below are some of my simple and favorite affirmations that are great to add to your daily routines.

1. You are beautiful

Yes, I have moments when I am not feeling my best. Sometimes my curls do not respond the way I want them to. There are mornings when I am not able to spend the time that I wanted on my make-up for the day. I still look in the mirror and tell myself that I am beautiful each and every day. I fully love and embrace myself even with my flaws. It takes work to get there and it does not happen over night, but it is possible.

It’s the beginning of a new year! Time to look back on the past year and reflect. Are there goals that you want to accomplish during this fresh start? Do you find yourself not following through on your ambitions? Creating a vision board is a great way to manifest your intentions for the New Year. This guide will share tips on creating your vision board for the year!

Before you start your vision board, set your intentions. What goals would you like to achieve? Why are you creating this board? If you are struggling with setting your intentions, close your eyes and visualize what truly makes you happy. Is it a new job? Moving to a new city? Having clear intentions will create a successful visual board. Once you are able to understand and set your intentions, you can design your board.

Hello 2017!

Hello 2017!

I fully embrace you with open arms. 2016 was my year of growth in an array of areas of my life. I am ready to take on my goals and my intentions that I set for the year. There were a lot of learning lessons that I discovered and I’m looking forward to bringing them along with me this new year:

I do not give my energy to those that do not value me.

No more one-sided relationships. I will not give my energy or go out my way to those that do not earn it. It is exhausting and delays my own goals that I need to work on.

How I Adjusted To The “Fall Back” Time Change

In November, the time adjusted an hour back. This left me with mixed feelings actually. I was excited about receiving an additional hour of sleep, which is much needed in my already busy schedule. But I also thought about how dark it will quickly get in the evening. See, the sun is a good friend of mine and I was sad to see him leave early everyday. I was determined to figure out a way to get through the fall back time adjustment. With some trial and error, I learned that these adjustments helped me get through it and they are still working for me now.

Oil Diffuser

I use my diffuser every day with my favorite mixtures of essential oils. Since the time change, I find myself creating oil blends that improved my overall mood and made me cheerful. I created blends that include lemongrass, lavender, peppermint oil, and jasmine oils. If you have never used a diffuser before, I would recommend starting with one blend at a time and you will learn what scents you are drawn to. I purchased this diffuser, which also comes with a colorful light setting that you can choose from.

Show Gratitude

With our busy lives and things not always going as planned, it can be difficult to show gratitude. At times we forget how grateful we are and need a friendly reminder. Usually during this time of year, we reflect and appreciate what we have in our lives. However, we should not practice gratitude once a year to show appreciate for life and those who are in it. By practicing gratitude daily, you may find yourself happier and at peace. Additionally, you may find yourself valuing what you currently have rather than what you do not have momentarily. How do I show gratitude? I tell my family and friends that I love them and I am thinking of them. I take care of my home and personal items to show appreciation for them. I enjoy giving compliments to others.

Consistency is key

My Bedtime Routine

Sleep is so important for our everyday lives. It allows us to reset our bodies and a good night’s rest can help us tackle the next day. With technology as a distraction, it can be difficult to disconnect and unwind for sleep. A bed time routine can assist with better sleep and also schedule your sleep patterns. I have a bed time routine that helps me unwind and get ready for rest. Need any suggestions? Check out the following:

  1. Drink Tea

Drinking a cup of tea is so relaxing for me. I have boxes of tea in my cabinet and I choose whichever flavor I am in the mood for. I prefer drinking herbal teas and my favorite brands include Yogi Tea and Celestial Seasonings. I use raw honey and agave to sweeten my tea. I also have a collection of mugs so I can enjoy drinking my tea in little pieces of art.

Slow Down Queen…

at times

These last two weeks have been so hard. My multiple (yes, more than one) to-do lists were long and it felt like I was never going to cross anything off. Trying to finish everything at once left me with low energy and I was drained (my apologies for not posting for a minute). After finishing all of the things I needed to do, I had to take a few days to re-group and get myself together. That’s a huge step for me! I am usually the person who keeps going and going. Usually, it would take a cold for me to slow down. But, I learned the hard way that it’s not the way to handle it. At times we need to slow down, at times we need to know when to stop. And I knew that I needed to stop (yay for growth!).

In order to get my energy back up, I ate plenty of fruits and veggies. I prefer to get my energy from natural sources. Along with the produce, I took my multi – vitamins with lots of water. I made sure that I received more than enough rest so I can wake up feeling less tired. Keeping a positive attitude, meditating, and my daily mantras definitely helped me make it through. But you are probably wondering, why is she sharing this? That’s because I get drained from everyday life as well. And sometimes, we forget that we need to slow down and take care of ourselves. That basket of laundry that needs to be folded can wait another day or two. Rest up queen!
